摘要
Modular multilevel converter(MMC) has become a promising topology in medium- and high-voltage applications owing to advantages like high efficiency, scalability, modularity, etc. However, the high switching frequencies of the semiconductors produce high-frequency common-mode voltage (CMV), and thus generates the common-mode leakage current. The current flows through parasitic capacitances between the converter and load, which brings electromagnetic interference (EMI). Also, the current do damage to the motor bearing and stator insulation when MMC is used as motor drive. Therefore, it is necessary to reduce the CMV of MMC. In this paper, the traditional nearest level pulse width modulation(NL-PWM) is improved by adding a remodulation process(RMP) and two compensations, which is easy to be implemented. Finally, the validity of the improved NL-PWM scheme are verified by simulation results.
