摘要
Grid connected inverters are becoming very common with the rise of distributed generation and are typically full bridge voltage source inverters(VSI). One way to improve their performance is to reduce harmonics caused by dead time, particularly in discontinuous conduction mode (DCM). This paper proposes a method to improve the traditional dead time compensation to fully address dead time errors in the zero crossing region. The method was successfully verified through testing on a 10kW single-phase inverter. Experimental results show that the proposed method reduces the total harmonic distortion(THD) by eliminating discontinuities in the output current.
