摘要
SiC wind power energy conversion system (WECS) can operate at higher switching frequency, compared to Si IGBT systems. This will broaden the regular design range of wind power converter. Based on efficiency and power density, a design scheme considering wind speed profile is developed for typical WECS. The components and system are analyzed regarding the tradeoffs between efficiency and volumetric power density for all feasible frequencies and ripple current. At nominal wind speed and wind speed profile, the efficiency and power density curves have the same trend so that valid design can be achieved using nominal condition. In a 400 kW SiC system, SiC converter operates at an optimal frequency of 14 kHz with an efficiency and power density of 98.23% and 6.35 kW/dm³. The design scheme is validated on a 30 kW three-phase LCL-type inverter.
