When super capacitors monomers were charged in series, the voltage imbalance between monomers would increase the failure rate of super capacitors and shorten their service life.
According to the problems existing in the super capacitors in series,this paper presented a voltage-balance circuit for super capacitors in forward converter based on sequence coupling array integrated magnetic method.Also,it analyzed the voltage-balance theory and the factors affecting voltage- balance circuit. Sequence coupling method was used in secondary windings of converter to achieve voltage balance of monomer, which can reduced voltage unbalance caused by leakage error in transformer. This paper proposed the relationship between converter duty cycle and transformer winding turns, and presented a design method of transformer. Simulation model was established and a method of winding-voltage-spike suppression was presented. Theoretical analysis was verified correct by the simulation and experimental results, which demonstrated the circuit’s excellent performance in voltage balance between monomers.
