摘要
In this paper, a novel nine-level bi-directional multilevel inverter is proposed. The structure of the main concepts is for the use of eleven power switch devices to divide input voltage that replaces the traditional circuit using capacitors. Nine switches and four diodes are required to generate a nine-level output. Additional two switches and an inductor will generate an output voltage balance circuit to ensure the same voltage on output capacitors. The control scheme is implemented by an FPGA Spartan-6 evaluation kit that produces eleven-level pulse width modulation (PWM) signals passed to power switches. Nine-level bi-directional multilevel inverter's major advantages for using nine-level PWM are that the voltage of each capacitor device is clamped to 1/4 of the dc output voltage. Finally, a 220 Vac, 60 Hz input voltage and 200 Vdc/2 kW output nine-level inverter will be simulated.
