摘要
Inductive electric vehicle charging emerges as a promising technology by virtue of convenience and safety characteristics. However, IPT(Inductive Power Transfer) charger alignment tolerance is a critical issue in EV charging. In this paper, An IPT converter with asymmetric rectangular-solenoid (ARS) coupler is proposed to improve the misalignment-tolerant during the EV battery charging process. The ARS coupler combines a rectangular coil and a solenoid coil on the receiver side while the transmitter utilizes a rectangular coil. The coils arranged on the same side are spatially integrated and magnetically decoupled. Experimental verification of the proposed IPT converter with asymmetric rectangular-solenoid coupler is performed in a laboratory prototype with a 1 kW. And the result shows that the IPT system with ARS coupler can maintain a width range of misalignment.
